Fresh pineapple ginger juice is a delicious way to energize yourself and improve immunity. This easy 4-ingredient recipe has the perfect balance of sweet and spice! A fool-proof recipe to make your own immunity juice at home. Blender and Juicer recipe included!

A glass of pineapple ginger juice topped with a pineapple slice.

This pineapple ginger juice recipe is super simple to make and packs flavor while being refreshing. It's the perfect immunity juice to boost your health, especially in the winter, and refreshing enough for a hot summer day!

With only four natural ingredients - pineapple, ginger, honey and cinnamon - it’s a great juice for any season. The best part? It can be served hot, cold, as a cocktail mixer or as a mocktail!

I’m a huge fan of immunity and energy shots, and juices. I use my juicer to make every and any combination and even have eight go-to juicer recipes for energy!

Normally when I begin to get a tickle in my throat, I love to take a ginger cayenne shot or turmeric ginger shot to boost my immune system.

Eating clean for the past five years, my favorite recipes were those that use simple, fresh ingredients. I’m a huge proponent of making easy drinks that taste delicious and keep me full. For juice recipes like this one, I prefer only a few ingredients that pack huge flavor. For other simple, delicious juices try Kiwi Juice, Ginger Juice, or Grapefruit Orange Juice.

    Highlights of this Recipe

    This recipe is:

    • Easy
    • Healthy with no added sugar
    • Only 4 Ingredients

    Ingredients

Ingredients needed to make pineapple ginger juice: pineapple, ginger, cinnamon, honey, and water.

    Fresh Ginger

Fresh ginger root has powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It also helps soothe nausea and digestion. I love the spice the ginger juice brings to these shots. You can substitute for ground ginger if needed.

    Pineapple

For this juice recipe, we use fresh ripe pineapple and cut into large chunks and then blend it into pineapple juice. Pineapple is loaded with nutrients and antioxidants, and is high in vitamin C. It also has a delicious taste! I wouldn’t substitute for canned pineapple as it’s much sweeter. Instead, substitute for frozen pineapple.

For more pineapple recipes, try Healthy Mango Pineapple Smoothie, Easy Mango Pineapple Popsicle, or Agua de Piña (Pineapple Water).

    Cinnamon Stick

Cinnamon is a great addition to an immunity juice since it has anti-viral, antibacterial, and antifungal properties. It also contains antioxidants with anti-inflammatory effects! Substitute for ground cinnamon.

    Honey

Honey is known for being a source of many antioxidants and having anti-inflammatory properties, hence why we always tend to have honey while sick! Substitute for maple syrup to keep it vegan.

    Blender Instructions

If you don’t have a juicer, no problem! Make sure to peel the ginger first.

Simmer fresh pineapple chunks, ginger, a cinnamon stick, and water.

Pineapple, cinnamon, and ginger simmering in a pot full of water.
    Simmer the ingredients.
Pouring honey into a blender full of water, pineapple, and ginger.
    Add to a blender.

Then combine the ingredients in a blender, except the cinnamon stick.

Blend the ingredients together and then strain into an airtight container.

A blender full of of pineapple ginger juice with a pineapple in the background.
    Blend until smooth.
Straining pineapple ginger juice through a fine mesh sieve.
    Strain into a pitcher.

Because the pulp can get thick, I use a spoon to squeeze out as much juice as possible. You can use a cheese cloth or nut milk cloth to strain if you have those.

    Juicer Instructions

I love using my juicer to make my own fresh fruit juices. If you have your own, it will definitely make it a little bit easier and fewer steps.

First, make sure to chop all fruits and ginger into pieces that will fit in the juicer chute.

Then, using the proper juicer settings - LOW, HIGH, TURBO - juice the pineapple and ginger.

Mix in the honey and water and stir to combine completely, until honey dissolves.

How to Serve Homemade Pineapple Ginger Juice

This simple Pineapple Ginger Immunity Juice can be enjoyed many different ways. It’s a truly versatile juice that is fresh and low-sugar.

    • OVER ICE - Pour directly over ice or keep in the fridge for an hour prior to drinking!
    • MOCKTAIL - Mix with orange juice or ginger beer as a delicious mocktail!
    • HOT - Heat up on the stove and enjoy this juice hot as a pineapple ginger tea! You can even add some orange juice (fresh or store-bought) while it's on the stove!
    • COCKTAIL - Add ice and 1-2 OZ. of any liquor for a cocktail. Top off with spicy ginger beer, club soda, or by itself!

For some pineapple flavored mocktails/cocktails, try Spiced Pineapple Rum Moscow Mule or Pineapple Ginger Beer Mocktail.

Pouring ginger pineapple juice into a glass.

    How to Store Leftovers

This recipe makes about 5 cups of juice. Store the juice in an airtight container or mason jar in the fridge and pour into glasses or cups when ready to take it.

Fresh juice is always at its best when consumed immediately or within a few hours.

    Freezing Juice

Freeze fresh juice in an ice cube maker. When frozen into cubes, remove from the ice cube mold and place in an airtight ziplock or freezer bag.

    Frozen juice lasts 2-3 months.

    Variations

You can change up this ginger pineapple juice recipe to make it your own!

    • If your pineapple isn’t that sweet, you can use coconut water in place of water.
    • Add a pinch of cayenne pepper for a little bit of heat.
    • Coconut milk will make a creamy version of this juice.
    • Add in a splash of your other favorite juices like carrot juice or watermelon juice.
    • Combine with citrus fruits, like in this Grapefruit Orange Juice or Mandarin Juice.
    • Add a splash of fresh squeezed lemon juice to brighten up the flavor.
A glass bottle full of pineapple ginger juice.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Would ginger powder work instead of the fresh root?

You can use powdered versions of the ginger in this wellness juice. If you do, I suggest adding some more liquid like a coconut water or more citrus juice.

Should the ginger be peeled first?

If you are using the blender for this recipe, then I do recommend peeling the ginger.

However, there’s no need to peel the ginger root prior to juicing this recipe. Simply make sure that the ginger is thoroughly washed.

    Equipment

    • High-Powered Blender

    Ingredients

    • 4 Cups Water
    • 3 Cups Fresh Pineapple peeled and cubed
    • 2 Pieces Fresh Ginger Root peeled, 2" pieces
    • 1 tablespoon Honey
    • 1 Cinnamon Stick

    Instructions

    • Simmer cubed pineapple, cinnamon stick, ginger and pineapple in the water for 20-minutes.
4 Cups Water, 3 Cups Fresh Pineapple, 2 Pieces Fresh Ginger Root, 1 Cinnamon Stick
    • Once done simmering, remove the cinnamon stick and pour into blender and add honey.
      1 tablespoon Honey
    • Blend until smooth.
    • Strain into a large jar or pitcher. The puree from the pineapple ginger mixture may be slightly thick so I used a spoon to squeeze the juices from the pulp.
    • Place in the fridge until slightly chilled, or pour into a glass over ice.

    Notes

If you can't find fresh pineapple you can definitely use frozen pineapple and just simmer for an extra 10-minutes!

I would love to try this recipe, but "two pieces of ginger" is very vague. What size pieces are resupposed to use?

Hi Teresa! It should say two 2" pieces of ginger, I will correct that now! Thanks!
