- A simple swap for gluten free breadcrumbs makes these delicious burgers gluten free.
- Easy to whip up for dinner in 30 minutes!
- Customizable to change up with your favorite toppings.
- Gluten free
Ingredients
Avocado oil
I prefer using avocado oil over olive oil since it has a higher smoke point.
Yellow onion
Adding onions to these burgers gives a great flavor to the ground chicken.
Fresh spinach
I love adding fresh veggies into ground chicken burgers and meatballs. The spinach is sautéed first so it doesn’t make the chicken patty too wet when cooked.
Gluten free bread crumbs
This simple swap is perfect for making gluten free meatballs and burger patties! Gluten free bread crumbs are pretty widely available in most grocery stores, but if you cannot find them in yours, simply toast 2-3 pieces of your favorite gluten free bread, tear into pieces, and place in the food processor (affiliate link). Pulse until crumbly.
Fresh rosemary
Using fresh herbs in this burger takes it to the next level!
Ground chicken
Ground chicken comes in different fat to lean percentages. Chicken with a higher fat percentage will be more moist, like ground chicken thighs. You can choose ground chicken made from breasts, thighs, or a mixture of both. You can also make these burgers with ground turkey!
Egg
An egg is essential in this recipe to keep those juicy gluten free chicken patties nice and moist.

Instructions aka How to make this recipe
Heat avocado oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the onion, and cook 3-4 minutes, or until slightly translucent and crisp-tender. Add the garlic, and cook 1-2 more minutes, or until the garlic is fragrant and lightly browned.
Stir in the spinach, and cook, stirring often, until just wilted. Turn off the heat, and stir in the bread crumbs, rosemary, salt, and pepper.
Remove the mixture from the heat, and add to a mixing bowl. Add the ground chicken to the bowl, and stir to combine. Add the egg, and mix well.
Divide the chicken mixture into 4 - 6 ounce patties. Heat the remaining oil in a non-stick pan. Add the gluten free chicken patties to the hot oil, and cook for 6-8 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F, and the patties are golden brown.
If needed, work in batches, until all patties are cooked through.
Serve on your favorite gluten free bun with your favorite toppings like cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onion or pickles!
