This Blackberry Vodka & Elderflower Cocktail is the perfect segway into Fall/Winter cocktails. They’re light, refreshing and pack a lot of flavor! I promise this is not one you’re going to want to miss.
My favorite cocktails are the ones that take WERK! You have to muddle the fruits for that extra blast of flavor that almost masks the taste of any alcohol at all! This Blackberry Vodka & Elderflower Cocktail is dangerously good .. one of those ones you want to drink and drink and drink and you forget there’s anything inside! I added a splash of a homemade rosemary simple syrup that made this a little extra wintery, but it’s also not necessary at all. I will say it does change the taste quite a bit but both ways are delicious. I think experiment with both and tell me which you like best!
If you’re looking for a Summer cocktail with the same vibes, try my Strawberry-Basil Vodka Cocktail. I had a hard time deciding which is my favorite and am STILL trying to decide!
2 Oz. Vodka (I use Tito’s)
2 Oz. Elderflower Liquor (I use St. Germain)
½ Lemon (juiced)
1 The Cocktail Garnish Lemon (find it here)
Rosemary Simple Syrup (optional – recipe here)
- Add blackberries (and if you choose: the Rosemary Simple Syrup) to your cocktail shaker. Gently muddle the berries. (While you definitely don’t need the simple syrup, I will say that it definitely takes your drink to the next level and makes it a lot more Fall/Winter themed! Find the recipe here.)
- Squeeze the ½ lemon juice, vodka and elderflower liquor into the shaker. (A good tip I was given once is to add the cheapest parts of your drink first so that in the chance you mess up, you’re not wasting the alcohol!)
- Add ice.
- Shake for ~15-seconds.
- Strain the cocktail into a cup filled with ice.
- Top with lemon garnish.
