Ingredients

  • 1 cup oat milk homemade or store-bought
  • ¼ teaspoon ground turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup adjust to taste
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • Optional: a dash of nutmeg ginger, or cloves

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, gently heat the oat milk over low-medium heat. Be careful not to boil it; you want it just hot enough to meld the flavors.
  • Whisk in the turmeric and cinnamon until the mixture is well combined and aromatic.
  • Add the vanilla extract and your preferred sweetener, adjusting the amount to your taste preferences.
  • Pour into your favorite mug.
  • Sprinkle in a pinch of black pepper on top to enhance the absorption of curcumin.
  • Optional: Top with a light dusting of nutmeg.

Notes

  • If using whole (like the cinnamon) or fresh (like the turmeric or ginger) spices, make sure to strain the milk well to remove them before serving.
  • To store oat milk turmeric latte, first, ensure that it is completely cooled down before transferring it to an airtight container. Place the container in the refrigerator, where it can be stored for up to 3-4 days.
  • To reheat this golden milk latte, microwave it in short intervals, heat it over low-medium heat on the stove until warmed, or add it to a milk frother.
