Turkey burger patties
- 8 ounces ground turkey
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
Avocado mash
- 1 avocado soft to touch
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Turkey patties
Combine ground turkey with ½ teaspoon salt and ½ teaspoon pepper in a large bowl. Using your hands, mix until just combined. Make 4 portions, flattened to about ½ inch thick patties. Try not to overhandle the burgers as it can cause the patties to fall apart while cooking.
Wrap each patty in plastic wrap and place in the fridge for at least 20-30 minutes and up to overnight. This also helps the patties to cook evenly and hold their shape.
Heat a large skillet (or other frying pan) at medium-high heat with 1 tablespoon Avocado Oil.
Once hot, add patties. Oil should sizzle as the patty hits the pan. Cook for about 5-minutes each side, or until patty reaches an internal temperature of 165ºF.
Remove from pan and onto a plate line with paper towel. Let sit for 5-minutes.
- Meal prep: You can make these patties ahead of time and store in the freezer until you are ready to cook them.
- Storage directions: Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.
