Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 cup club soda (topo chico preferred)
  • 1 lime cut into four wedges; washed thoroughly
  • 5 mint leaves washed thoroughly
  • 2 tablespoon granulated sugar

Instructions

  • Cut the lime into four wedges.
  • Add two lime wedges into a tall glass.
  • Muddle gently to release the lime juice.
  • Add the sugar, mint leaves and remaining two lime wedges to the glass.
  • Gently muddle again to release the juices of the limes and mint.
  • Add ice and half of the club soda and stir.
  • Pour remaining club soda.
  • Best to enjoy with a straw!

Notes

  • If you don’t have a muddler, you can use the end of a wooden spoon.
  • Don’t skip muddling! It will release the juices and oils of the lime and mint, giving it extra flavor and aroma. You won’t get the same result by shaking or stirring.
  • If your limes aren’t very juicy, add a teaspoon of warm water to help muddle the sugar.
