Ingredients

  • 4 OZ Tequila
  • 3 OZ Orange Liqueur (Triple Sec, Gran Marnier or Cointreau)
  • 1 Cup Frozen Blackberries
  • 10 Mint Leaves washed thoroughly
  • 2 tablespoon Agave Syrup
  • 1.5 Cups Ice

Optional Sugar-Salt-Mint Rim (enough for 6)

  • 1 tablespoon Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Margarita or Coarse Salt
  • 2-3 Mint Leaves finely chopped
  • 1 Lime Wedge

Instructions

Optional Sugar-Salt-Rim

  • Add sugar, salt and finely chopped mint onto a small plate or cocktail rimmer. Mix together.
  • Slice a small slit into the lime wedge halfway through. Place the slit in the lime wedge onto the rim of your margarita glass (before pouring the cocktail in). Slide the lime wedge around the rim in a circle to cover the entire glass' rim.
  • Slide the limes on all of the glass rims.
  • Dip the glass into the margarita salt on the plate, and turn the glass in a full circle to ensure the salt sticks.
  • Finish all of the glasses.

Make the Margarita

  • Add all ingredients into the blender.
  • Blend until smooth, about 60-seconds.
  • Pour into glasses.

Notes

To make this a skinny frozen margarita, substitute freshly squeezed orange juice instead of the orange liqueur.
Fresh Lime Juice. Fresh limes are always best.
Mint. Substitute for basil or completely omit.
Agave Nectar. Substitute for simple syrup, honey or maple syrup. If you prefer sweeter drinks, add more.
Tequila. Any Blanco or Reposado will do!
Orange Liqueur. Gran Marnier, Cointreau or Triple Sec. I typically refrain from Triple Sec as it has higher sugar therefore causing more headaches. In this case, quality is best.
