Grapefruit Orange Juice

A twist on classic orange juice, this freshly squeezed grapefruit orange juice is the perfect refreshing beverage any time of day. The sweetness from the orange balances out the tart and bitterness from the grapefruit. It’s a delicious fresh citrus juice combination.

  • 3 fresh grapefruits
  • 4 fresh oranges

Instructions

Juice grapefruits and oranges either by hand, with a citrus press, juicer, or blender.

  • By blender: remove the peels of oranges and grapefruits first by knife or hand. Next, add grapefruits and oranges to the blender and blend until smooth. If having trouble blending, add ½ cup of filtered water (juice will be less intense in flavor). Strain and enjoy.
  • By juicer: remove the peels of oranges and grapefruits first by knife or hand. Next, juice grapefruits at LOW, and then juice oranges at TURBO.
  • By citrus press or hand: Cut grapefruits and oranges in half. Juice (in any order). Combine and enjoy.
  • Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice, fresh lime juice, or any natural sweetener if needed.

Notes

  • When making citrus juice in a juicer or blender, it is best to peel the fruits first.
  • Storage directions: Fresh fruit juices are best enjoyed within 24 hours. I prefer to chill my fresh juices for about 30 minutes prior to serving. Store in the refrigerator for up to 72 hours.
  • Freezing directions: If you won’t consume the juice in the first 3 days, you can freeze the leftovers. The best way to do this is with ice cube trays. Freeze the juice into trays, then transfer to a freezer bag. Store frozen for 2-3 months.
