Ingredients

  • 15 ounces fresh ginger root
  • 3.5 cups water
  • 3 tablespoons honey

Instructions

Juicer Instructions

  • Cut ginger into pieces that can easily pass through your juicer funnel. (No need to remove the skins)
  • Turn juicer on to Turbo setting and juice all ginger root. Make sure to do one at a time or ginger may get stuck. (If ginger root gets stuck, turn off juicer and remove ginger root from the tube and then restart process.)
  • Add water and honey to ginger juice and stir well to combine.

Blender Instructions

  • Peel the ginger root by using a spoon.
  • Add water and ginger to a high-powered blender.
  • Blend until smooth.
  • Strain mixture through a cheesecloth or sieve, making sure to press on the pulp to release all liquids.
  • Add honey to the ginger juice, and stir to combine.

To Make Tea

  • Combine ½ - 1 cup of ginger juice with 1 cup of hot water, depending on desired strength of ginger.
  • Add sweetener if desired.

Notes

You can substitute maple syrup or granulated sugar (like coconut sugar or regular sugars) instead of honey, but please be reminded that all sugars add a slightly different taste.
Store in an airtight container, like a large jug or pitcher, in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze in ice cube trays for up to 6 months.
